Farm to Barn

Cows love our hay! Every summer, a local farmer hays the fields during stretches of dry, sunny weather. This year, our neighboring herd of 50 cows will feast on 193 bales of hay gathered at FARM & FIELD.

Conserved land

Over 230 acres of the FARM & FIELD’s property is protected and preserved through the Upper Valley Land Trust ensuring that this land remains intact as a place of inspiration and wonder for future generations. In addition to the scenic and productive 36 acres of hayfields, 195 acres of woodland are protected, providing valuable habitat to a variety of wildlife, natural resources including trails, pond, and running stream, and the historical Schofield Cemetery. Our FARM & FIELD property is one of many conserved lands in the area which add to the natural beauty and rural character of Canaan and surrounding towns.
